Beefing up registration security?
Any chance we can strengthen the registration process? Adding captchas or activation emails or something?

Because the board is really easily being attacked by spam-bots... most of which aren't posting things, but I keep seeing the accounts popping up as the newest members...

I second this idea, as a lot of the bots (and as we've seen, some posts) are not really of PG kind of content. Not good news if you ask me, lol.

I pm'd dirge a few days ago...they will be looking into finding a solution to keep these spam/porn things from getting access to the forum.

In the mean time we'll have to make sure we all keep on using the good ol "report" option:

It's the only defense we real members have against the bots at this point!

Dirge, I certainly appreciate the fact that you are working on a solution for the bots that are setting up shop on Kalan's forum...but could you work a little faster, lol? Please? I see another thread has been started by an "unreal" Kalan forum member...Kalan's member count is not even a valid number...we people will be overrun by the bots soon. Thanks again for working to rectify this situation.

Whenever I see a posting that is "questionable" I click on the triangle (moderator)on the bottom left corner.
The posting is usually removed within the hour.
