Kalan to be guest panelist for the Junos

We need more action in this forum, so for those who may have missed his tweets and don't follow chat threads:

Quote
Hey all. I'm gonna be the guest panelist on Yahoo's Juno Live Chat. Join me Sunday at 8pm EST and chat throughout the show.

Because if you haven't put out Juno worthy music for a few years, why not sit back and comment on all those who have.

(Forget Juno Worthy music... how about music in general?  Wink )

Sorry to be so clueless, but  the link takes you to the Golden Boy article

... I can't see how this would let you access a Live Chat.  ...Plus, is 'EST'  4 hours different from BC??

HELP???
 Undecided

[sorry]

Re: Kalan to be guest panelist for the Junos

No idea. Just reporting what Kalan reported.

I would assume that box below the article seems like a place a live chat might go. Maybe he'll post a proper link tomorrow.

However the actual time I'm a little confused, because said box below the article says EDT, but Kalan's tweet says EST. There's an hour difference between the two, but they're used for the same region. Anyone know which one might be the correct one for this time of the year??? Are we on "Daylight" (-4) or "Standard" (-5) time?

At any rate, I set the little notification in the box to alert me one hour before the chat starts, so hopefully that will be the heads up we need.

This is the link that the reminder notification sent to me earlier today:

ETA - Ontario (as is all Canada except Saskatchewan and maybe the Alberta border??) is on Daylight Savings Time at the moment, so I'd assume Kalan has a typo.

This doesn't look like it's going to be a "chat" more of a "read".  At the bottom of that Golden Boy article is an Upcoming Event block that has a link to Reader Information - I copied it below:

Reader Information

There's nothing to do during a Live Event other than read, watch and occasionally send in a comment or vote in the polling questions.
It's not a chatroom. You go to largely find out what the writer has to say. An open chat with thirty or more readers turns into poor, disjointed content very quickly.
Your comments are published at the Writer's discretion. The Writer can view all comments sent to them but only they can publish your comments for everyone to see.
Our 'autoscroll' feature ensures you're always shown the newest content without having to refresh or scroll your screen. You can turn this on or off by using the controls at the bottom of the Viewer Window.
Subtle sound effects alert you to new content as the writer publishes it. This can also be turned on or off as needed.

Here's the link to the website.

says 'watch'...I believe there will be a video stream...which we can watch and send comments...now maybe there is a facilitator that will be choosie on which comments get posted but it should prove interesting none the less....Watching/seeing Kalan for the first time in a while commenting on various artists,  if he brings his snarky self then it may be a laugh riot...I'm looking forward to it.  WHICHEVER form it takes..

Re: Kalan to be guest panelist for the Junos

I've been looking around and found this on the CTV juno site...(thanks to vic)

from this which is the same format it appears to be a CHAT not a video.  this one starts at 7:30 with the much music vjay's

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20100415/junos2010_livechat_20100416/20100415/?s_name=junos2010&no_ads=

you can get a feel of this before the one with Kalan starts..

I'm watching the red carpet on Much Music...Hedley just went through...

Re: Kalan to be guest panelist for the Junos

Oh MuchMusic is showing the red carpet show??

Dangit, I don't have MuchMusic any more. ;_;

Still don't understand why CTV can't just properly show it, instead of Desperate Housewives for once.
