I have read each book a few times. New Moon was my least favorite of them all. I understand why Stephanie Meyers took a huge section and devoted it to Jacob and tried to develop this love triangle, but in the books I always got the sense that it was one sided and never got into a true love triangle. My opinion after seeing the movie didn't change, but I agree with you that some who haven't read the books may believe the love triangle more after seeing the movie only.

I actually preferred the production of Twilight much more than New Moon despite Twilight having so many departures or should I say liberties than the book. For me the music they selected really added to Twilight and captured the essence of the story. For me the music in New Moon didn't create the correct emotion and some scenes felt really cheesy.. The pros and cons for me of New Moon are:

Pros: (1) I loved the new scene with Jasper in the school when Alice was giving Bella her gift. The added comedy was great and I like Jasper. (2) I loveddddd the scene with Edward crushing his cell phone when he thinks Bella is dead. To me this was a much better than how Stephanie handled the scenario in the book. I could feel Edward's pain and despair more. (3) I loved that the script stayed more in line with the actual events in the book. (4) in some ways I preferred the cliff hanger ending than the book.

Cons: (1) I really wish the R&J scene had remained in the house rather than in the school. Although both Bella and Edward said basically the same lines as the book, the different setting doesn't capture the same feel. (2) The werewolves seemed odd. I know they are huge in the book and I know they are computer generated in the movie, but they really felt manipulated to me and not as captivating. (3)The ending seemed rushed after the "V/Italy" scenes. (4) Not enough Alice. I like her character and I wish they had of kept her scenes with Charlie from the book when he is explaining Bellas pain of Edward leaving while Bella was eavesdropping. (5) They should have expanded the Edward and Bella scene in the bedroom where she was asking for her stuff back. They showed edward taking the picture at the beginning, but nothing about the afterwards.

Eclipse is supposed to come out in Spring 2010, I think June. With another new director it will be interesting to see their take. I am going to try to stay from spoilers so that I don't get too excited and expect too much. I did enjoy New Moon, but I am looking forward to the next instalment.

I agree with most of your beefs too and your cons lol. I loved the Edward phone crushing scene too. Yes the bedroom scene should have been longer at the end.

I liked new moon the movie but i have to say I LIKE TWILIGHT BETTER, there more romance to Twilight although even twilight should have developed the Edward/Bella relationship.
